Ettrick and Lawrence residents lost power earlier today after a vehicle crashed, causing extensive damage to a power pole.

Aurora Energy has confirmed the crash happened just before 11.20am and a replacement pole will need to be installed.

An Aurora Energy spokesperson said while the lines team has managed to restore the power temporarily, there will need to be an outage later today to install the replacement pole and complete the repair.

“At this stage we do not have a timeframe for when this will happen, but the outage will show on our website when it is underway.”

The initial outage affected 78 customers, with less than five still affected, according to the Aurora Energy website.
