We are looking for a highly articulate, self-motivated, and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Contracts Manager, based in Cromwell.

Job Description

You will be comfortable in a client-facing role, having the ability to work on projects from the initial estimate through to roofing completion and you will have the opportunity to fully manage the financial outcome of commercial roofing projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage all aspects of commercial construction to deliver a successful project.
  • Preparing tenders, lead negotiations, project administration, evaluating & costing of variations.
  • Reviewing and preparing incoming & outgoing contract/costing correspondence and ensure compliance.
  • Co-ordinate the trades and material supplies.
  • Managing financial, contractual, and commercial issues on projects.
  • Monitor project schedules, variations, and scope changes.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to project-based staff. And be available to support troubleshooting and problem solving on site.
  • Build good relationships and have regular and effective communication with the client, subcontractors, customers, suppliers, and staff.


Your Skills:

  • A roofing trade or 5+ years of experience, and prior experience in project management and commercial construction.
  • You will come from a similar type of role, managing staff, customer facing, managing systems and processes to ensure quality delivery of projects.
  • Well-developed project, financial management and reporting skills.
  • Excellent co-ordination, relationship management and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Fully proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be proactive and solutions oriented.
  • A commitment to health & safety.
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence.
