Cromwell College held a Gumboot Friday fundraiser yesterday to help young people access free counselling.
Gumboot Friday is a national campaign where the whole of New Zealand can get involved to be a part of the solution for youth mental health.
Students could wear gumboots with their school uniform showing support through a gold coin donation.

Since 2019, the Gumboot Friday initiative has provided more than 100,000 therapy sessions to young New Zealanders.
Like walking through the mud in gumboots, young people can find it tough to navigate their mental health challenges.
Donations go to funding free counselling for youth, so they aren’t going through mental health challenges alone.

Anyone 25 and under can get free counselling, face to face or digital, and pick a trained counsellor from a database.
