Cromwell College’s annual sports prizegiving recognised student success across many different sporting codes last week.
Principal Mason Stretch welcomed whānau to the awards noting that in a week of such sporting highlights for Aotearoa it was fitting to celebrate achievements, stories and successes of the school in 2024.
“Congratulations to [our students] for commitment, team work, fair play, when representing the school across such a diversity of sport with such determination, loyalty and pride.”
Mason thanked the sports committee, the new team led by Mark in the sports department, along with coaches, managers, staff, whanau, fundraisers, the Maximising Resources Committee who assist with travelling costs for sports teams, along with the organisers of the awards.
Eight weeks into his new role as director of sport, Mark Wilson said it had been a great year for the College with incredible performances and he was impressed with all the talent within the school.
The Reddy family trophy for team of the year went to Cromwell College touch team who went to New Zealand Secondary Schools Touch national championships.
Due to space constraints The Central App is unable to publish a list of all winners.
