Central is officially home to 18 new community bike ambassadors.
The ambassadors recently explored Alexandra's Matangi Station to finish their programme, which included comprehensive first aid training.
Last Monday, the first cohort of 18 community bike ambassadors were hosted by the Sanders family at Matangi Station, where they were upskilled by Rotorua-based first aid trainers from Peak Outdoor Safety and Emergency Management, who delivered the course free of charge.
Peak Outdoor Safety and Emergency Management trainer and bike enthusiast Charlie Lester-Rosson spent the day with the bike ambassadors, who ranged in age from teenagers to 70-plus.

CODC road safety advisor and course coordinator Chris Foggin (Foggie) was thrilled to have Charlie come down from Rotorua to share her expertise.
"Not only is the course the first of its kind in the region, but it is also being delivered by a local star on the trails up north; Charlie is one of their bike patrollers, so is a great fit for our group."
Up-Cycles Charitable Trust, founded by Foggie, has purchased first aid kits to be given to the ambassadors.
Another three-day course will take place on December 7 and 14, with day three to be confirmed.
