Snow fell to low levels overnight on Monday in parts of the Queenstown Lakes District, and to higher levels around Central Otago.
In a boon for school holiday skiers, winter seems to have made a reappearance, with spring snow falling on Monday morning.
The strong winds that buffeted much of Central Otago overnight have eased, with further snow possible through this morning.
Cardrona is reporting fresh powder with big drifts, and the Remarkables ski-field saw 25 cm of snow falling overnight on Monday.
MetService meteorologist Dan Corrigan said there had been a few centimetres of snow inland from Dunedin and on the Crown Range.

The snow left the Valley around 3pm and the lambs were back running around safe and sound.

It was good to see many enjoying the snow during the school holidays in Naseby while they could. Spring weather is changeable, and Summer is just around the corner.
