Winner of E.T.C competition announcedThe winner of this year’s Eat.Taste.Central weekend prize has been won.

Sarah Veasey, from Wanaka, has won the exclusive Eat.Taste.Central prize, which includes a boutique adventure and food-filled weekend in Central Otago for two people.

Eat.Taste.Central (E.T.C) is Tourism Central Otago’s annual celebration of the region’s food, wine, beverage, venues and producers is looking for a point of difference for this year’s incarnation.

The month-long celebration of all things food and drink has established such a strong presence locally and nationally over the last four years.

Sarah was shocked and thrilled when we called her. "I've never won anything before, this is amazing, thank you so much" was her response to winning the exclusive prize, featuring two night’s stay at Carrick Winery and Vineyards, and the option of biking the Lake Dunstan Trail, along with four meals at three local restaurants across two days.

E.T.C. Campaign Manager Anthony Longman says the month-long event is a chance for everyone to support local and explore the hidden gems of Central Otago, just a stone's-throw from Queenstown and Wanaka.

“It is the perfect conduit to inspire people to get out and about enjoying our venues, hospitality and food offerings in these challenging times,” Anthony says.

Eat.Taste.Central is the perfect opportunity to visit Central Otago, take on a trail and sample some food and wine.

Anthony says the regional menu currently has 60 dishes, events and experiences on offer. With people’s choice and judges awards back this year and designed to champion our people.

If you need a break, this is your opportunity to enjoy good quality food and drink, take in some activities, or simply laze in the spring sunshine.

Vicki McLean, Managing Director of The Central App, says the app is proud to sponsor this event as it focuses on keeping it local while attracting new people to our region.

“It is also a reminder of the great produce we have in our backyard, the local suppliers who provide this to our local restaurants and cafes, and the restaurants and cafe business owners who employ local people,” Vicki says.

“It's everything Central, so it gels with our app philosophy which is about sharing 'Everything Central Otago' to our local people and our regular visitors.”

The Central App will have a live button where you can go to check out all the options throughout Central Otago, such as events, vineyards, and restaurants. Eat.Taste.Central
