People keen to connect with their community are invited to a ‘speed dating with a difference' this Valentine’s Day to potentially match them up to volunteer organisations in Central.

‘Find Your Perfect Match’ is an event organised by Volunteer South, Central Otago District Council Welcoming Communities and Alexandra Community House.

Volunteer South community connector Neha Gosalia said volunteering was a great way to get involved in your community.

“From sports, arts, social support, emergency response, conservation, sustainability or service groups; there is something for anyone keen to give it a try."

Volunteering is known to have a huge range of benefits to an individual's wellbeing and enables organisations to make a difference across a range of sectors.

“Whether you are new to the area or have been here a while, we invite you to connect with some fantastic people and organisations in a fun, playful way.”

A range of organisations will attend and be ready to chat with people keen to find out about connecting with their community through volunteering.

Find Your Perfect Match will take place on Valentines Day, Wednesday February 14, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm at Alexandra Community House, 14/20 Centennial Avenue, Alexandra.

Organisations wishing to participate can register with Volunteer South: [email protected] or call 027 506 5705.
