Central Otago’s weekend looks set to include sun and some showers, with changes arriving next week.
Overall it’s been a great weather week for the school holidays! This weekend will give us another shot to head outside, and perhaps let the kids get rid of some energy before looking for indoor activities next week.
MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says to enjoy it while you can as change is on the way.
"Saturday might start off wet but the second half of the day should see the skies clear and the sun may make an appearance before slipping below the mountains.
"Sunday is looking settled but it’s a brief calm before the storm."

Lewis says, “A low pressure system rolls across the country on Monday bringing rain to Central Otago on Monday and Tuesday.”
“As the low moves eastward it drags up some cold air on the southerly winds, this drops the temperatures into the low teens and brings the risk of snow down to around 800m on Monday and 600m on Tuesday.”
Overall, the message is simple; Enjoy the sunshine this weekend while you can.
