Quake recorded near Kermadec Islands

Civil Defence said there was no tsumani threat from the tremor. Photo: USGSA 6.4 earthquake was recorded south of the Kermadec Islands at 1.45am this morning.
Its epicentre was about 600km north-east of East Cape.
Civil Defence says there was no tsunami threat from the tremor.
