Alexandra residents had a little excitement this afternoon (Friday July 7) when a heavy police presence closed down one block of Spencer Street. 

Seven police cars were in the vicinity, including one canine unit, and one unmarked car. At least one policeman was armed.

A spokeswoman for the NZ Police media team said police executed an arrest warrant at an address on Spencer Street, Alexandra.
