Overnight snow has fallen and it's currently raining in many parts of Central Otago, leaving the roads covered in slushy snow.
A decent dusting of snow has fallen overnight in Alexandra, Clyde and Earnscleugh. The snow has now turned to light rain, so it will not hang around for long.
Some schools have delayed starts this morning, and school buses have also been affected.
Crews have been out ploughing and gritting since 5am so you can use the roads to get to school, work and whatever ever else you have planned today.
Kawarau gorge is open and The Central App has been keeping you informed since 5.45am via our Reports section.
Click on Roads to stay up to date and be aware of the road conditions you are travelling in this morning.
Some Facebook users were confused this morning, some believed that the Kawarau gorge was closed, resulting in some not making it through to Queenstown to be on time for work.
The Central App provides updates only when credible sources inform us. We are updated by the team at Fulton Hogan's via a daily update about the condition of the roads due to the weather (6.30am).

Teviot, Maniototo, Manuherikia and Cromwell areas, are normal winter driving conditions.
Currently raining with wet roads, temperatures currently ranging from 0°C to 4°C.
Intersections and shaded corners have been gritted but remain cautious around day break, as temperatures drop highly likelihood of ice.
Keep an eye out for excess grit, remember to drive to the winter conditions, and reduce driving speeds accordingly.
The Central App will also be providing the regular weekly Friday weather update at 11.00am this morning for today and the weekend ahead.
Take care as there is plenty of slush and snow in Alexandra this morning.
