Cromwell Korean couple Sunju and Manki Hong are the new owners of Cromwell’s Fusee Rouge cafe.
The pair have operated Alexandra’s Sushi Cafe for a few years, and have lived in New Zealand for almost 10 years, firstly in Queenstown and Wanaka before moving to Cromwell.
Sunju and Manki take over the cafe on October 14. Manki said he is excited about the opportunities the business could bring.
Alexandra’s Sushi Cafe is still going strong and he plans to keep making sushi there, while Sunju will be on hand at Fusee Rouge.
At this stage all the existing menu items and barista made coffee will stay at Fusee Rouge, as they have no plans to change anything.

Former owner Nicola Brockie, who has had Fusee Rouge for the past seven years said in a social media post: "It's been one hell of a ride to say the least . . . coming back from [Covid-19] to win best cafe in New Zealand last year and everything else before and after that.
"I couldn't be happier that [Sunju and Manki] will be taking the cafe into the future, they are kind, hardworking and have a passion for coffee, food and hospitality and they can't wait to meet you all."
In 2021 the cafe made the finals in the Hospitality Awards for Excellence and in 2022 came away with the overall 'best cafe' award.
