A new group in Ōmakau is meeting monthly for members to share their passion for reading.
On Thursday May 4 the group held their first meeting over a cup of coffee.
Seven women chatted about what they’re reading and they also learned about the libraries digital resources on offer.
There is no book to finish each month, it’s about making new connections in the community and sharing what you are reading with other bookworms.
Everyone is welcome to join future Ōmakau book chats on the first Thursday of the month, 10am – 11am at Muddy Creek Café.
Other book clubs also regularly meet in Central.
The Clyde book club meets at Olivers restaurant, the next gathering is on May 13 at 10am.
The Māniatoto Library Book Chat is held on the first Thursday of each month, at the library from 2.00 - 3.30pm. The next one is June 12.
Find opening hours and address information about Central libraries on the Libraries section of The Central App.
