Mo tenei turanga mahi - About the role


Covering wide-ranging terrain and varied electricity distribution infrastructure sites, this role is autonomous and self-managing, with plenty of unique and interesting project work. Flexibility around weather and infrastructure requirements might mean townscape asset inspection with a stop at your favourite local café for lunch one day, then offroad adventures in the majestic Central Otago high country the next.


Reporting to the Substation Supervisor and working collaboratively with the contract administration team, this role is critical in delivering a quality inspection service for our customers. Inspecting of assets (for example transformers, air break switches, earth testing and link/service boxes) involve the use of hand-held tablets, go pro cameras, thermal cameras, and other test equipment. Full inspection training will be given to the successful candidate.


This role is based from the Cromwell Depot with a vehicle provided and freedom to live anywhere in the surrounding vicinity.

Essential:


- Electrician with current practising licence

- Experience with the electricity industry and related regulations

- Experience in planning work to optimise safety, efficiency, and productivity

- Experience with reading and interpreting utility plans

- Demonstrates high regard for work efficiency, integrity and delivery

- Must hold a current and valid driver's licence


Desirable:


- Registered Electrical Fitter/Cable Jointer/Electrician or Inspector with current practising licence

- Level 4 National Certificate in Electrical Supply (Electrical) or equivalent

Pre-employment tests - Medical and Ministry of Justice


Connetics require all successful applicants to complete a pre-employment Ministry of Justice check, a pre-employment medical test which includes a drug and alcohol test.
