Farming community taking aim in OturehuaFood, fun, and darts: Enjoyed by all participants and supporters from Lauder, Omakau, Oturehua and the wider Maniototo, in the annual Central Otago pairs tournament held last Sunday

Following two Covid cancelled tournaments, this year's Central Otago darts pairs at the Oturehua Hotel brought together the farming community for fun and sport.

Sixteen people took part representing country pubs from Lauder, Omakau, Oturehua and the Fire Brigade and the action began at 1pm.

Organiser Wayne Love said the afternoon went well with lots of good fun had by entrants and supporters.

“It was all over by about 5.30pm, but the locals stayed on,” he said.

Wayne, who played with his wife, was knocked out in the semi finals by the pair who went on to win overall.

The final battle was between Oturehua’s Larry Connell and Fraser McKnight and Omakau’s Raelene McNally and PK.

Raelene McNally made the darts final together with dart partner PK.

Oturehua’s Larry and Fraser won with a three dart finish of 66 by Larry.
