Dunstan Hospital boosts service with key appointmentDunstan Hospital has appointed Tina Gilbertson (pictured) as the new Nursing Director and Quality Manager.

Dunstan Hospital has announced Tina Gilbertson as Central Otago Health Service Ltd’s (COHSL) new Nursing Director and Quality Manager.  


Tina has spent many years working in various roles in the Southern Health System and has held several positions including Deputy Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer at SDHB, Knowledge Centre Manager, where she led nursing and midwifery professional practice development programmes.


Most recently she has held the positions of Director of Quality and then Quality and Risk Manager for SDHB.


Tina has over twenty five years of clinical practice experience (Nursing and Midwifery) across Community, Primary, Rural, Secondary and Tertiary Care systems.

 

She also has considerable experience working within clinical governance, patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.


Her current boss at SDHB, Dr Hywel Lloyd, Director of Quality & Clinical Governance Solutions, describes Tina “as a Southern DHB nursing and midwifery icon.“

Tina adds: “I was very fortunate to grow up in this community and work at Dunstan earlier in my career.  


“Jaimie (my husband) and I have long planned to return to the place our family considers to be home, this is my Tūrangawaewae.”


Tina will be starting with COHSL on Wednesday, January 5.
