A celebration of culture, diversity and flair is coming up this month in Cromwell.

In support of Unity Week, and organised by Welcoming Communities and Central Otago District Council the talent festival will be a family friendly event of dance, music and cultural performances.

There are a wide range of performers, genres and acts on the bill including a bagpipe musician, Tongan gospel singers, the singing group the Fine Thyme Belles, classical ballet dance, Chilean guitar, Russian interactive dance, Garba dance, which is a dance from Gujarat, India, along with Punjabi drums and songs.

Welcoming Communities officer Heather Harries said if someone wanted to perform they were welcome to get in touch and they’ll be added onto the wait list.

The event is on Sunday June 23, from 3pm - 5pm in the Cromwell Presbyterian Church Auditorium.

Entry is by koha - a gold coin donation - and people are encouraged to bring a plate of food from their homeland to share.

The variety concert was originally going to be held in mid-March but a date clash with a multicultural football festival resulted in the postponement of the concert.
