‘Community sing’ to spread wellbeingEveryone is welcome to two upcoming community singing sessions in Cromwell

Funding from Te Hau Toka to support wellbeing means keen vocalists in Central can enjoy two free inclusive community sing-a-long events at the Cromwell Bowling Club soon.

‘Community Sing’ welcomes everyone, no experience is needed and it's free to attend. The sessions go for one hour, from 7-8pm on September 27 and October 20.

Two experienced choirmasters will lead the fun, Margaret O’Hanlon for September and Michelle Moynes for October's event.

The initiative received a grant in round three of the Connecting Communities Funding in July 2022.

Cromwell’s Fine Thyme Theatre Company president Katie Lindsay, who is also involved in the singing workshops said it is not about singing ability at all.

“This is about connection and having fun - group singing is great for positive mental health.”

Katie can be contacted for more information on 021 112 7811. For the event listing click here

Several other Central community groups received $1,000 funding each to use to bolster mental health and wellbeing, you can check out grant recipients here
