Christmas is a time of gathering together and one annual event creates space for people to celebrate as a community.
The Alexandra, Clyde, Lauder Union Parish is holding the annual community Christmas Day barbecue lunch again this year.
Reverend Andrew Howley said all were welcome at the annual event.
“Christmas is for everyone,” he said.
“We don’t care why you come. Everyone is welcome.”
Previous lunches have attracted a range of people of all ages and backgrounds.
Some are locals without family nearby; others are overseas workers on holiday visas spending Christmas a long way from home.
In previous years approximately 100 people have attended.
Rev Andrew said it would be a similar set up to previous years, making use of the village green space between Alexandra Community House and St Enoch’s Church.
Organisers are seeking volunteers, donations, support and entertainers to help with the event.
