Blossom festival set up underway The sun is shining on the team setting up the rides in Alexandra’s Pioneer Park ahead of tomorrow’s concert

Thousands are expected for the grand parade and the concert in Pioneer park tomorrow at the 65th Blossom Festival, featuring bands The Lady Killers and The Jordan Luck Band.

Event organiser Martin McPherson said everything was on track and coming together nicely.

“I’ll be relaxed tomorrow… but what a beautiful day today in the park [setting up].”

Marquees, tents, stages and fencing are being constructed ahead of the festival.

Children from the region are eagerly awaiting a turn on the festival rides including the ferris wheel and tea cups.

Market stalls, food vendors and entertainers will be on hand to keep festival goers smiling throughout the course of the afternoon.

Martin said that this year’s Blossom Festival will be bigger than ever and promises something for everyone.
