Over the past three years Aurora Energy contractors Connetics moved power poles and lines underground down Saint Bathans Loop Road, improving the safety and reliability of the local power supply.

To say thank you to the community for their support during the work, and after talking to the St Bathans Area Community Association (SBACA), Aurora contributed to the replacement of the St Bathans noticeboard.

In April 2022 the new noticeboard was constructed, and last week Aurora Energy and Connetics representatives had the opportunity to check it out.

Given the archaeological significance of the area, Aurora worked closely with Heritage New Zealand and Origin Consultants Limited (specialist archaeological consultants) throughout the duration of the project.

In June 2021, after the underground supply to each property was completed, the existing overhead infrastructure was removed. This involved removing the overhead power lines and five power poles.

There are also a number of Chorus owned steel railway poles on Saint Bathans Loop Road that Aurora was asked to leave by the community.
