Auditions: Captain Hook comes to AlexandraAuditions for a children’s play of Captain Hook will be held this week.

Children between the ages of eight and 13 are being sought to fill roles in the upcoming play, Captain Hook and Peter Pan with a twist.

Writer of the play, Karin Halliday, says it isn’t the same story as the regular tale of Peter Pan.

“The story is about Peter Pan and Captain Hook. Similar characters are there (such as) Tinkerbell, and Wendy.

“There is however a twist in the story and there is another character added from another story.

“Great little story - I have to say that as I'm the writer of the play.”

Pat lines is the director and is well known in children’s theatre. Karin says no experience is needed, and everyone is welcome.

She says it is a great opportunity to get children involved in the arts at a young age and holds a host of benefits.

“Children will gain confidence and experience with being on stage and just being involved in the whole play aspect,” Karin says.

“It is being rehearsed over school holidays for something for the children to do.

“Rehearsals will be on a Tuesday and Thursday from 10-11.30am. Performance dates are February 25 and 26.

“Come along and give it a go.”

For those interested in auditions, they will take place on Friday November 26 at Alexandra Primary School Office block, from 4pm onwards.
