Turf replacement projects to the tune of $320,000 have upgraded play spaces across the region.


Two upgrades have already been ticked off and Alexandra’s Pioneer Park is currently getting a makeover.



A Central Otago District Council (CODC) spokesperson confirmed the upgrade to Cromwell’s Anderson Park has been completed.


The $20,000 upgrade extended the lifespan of the turf by five more years.


Tarras’ turf $120,000 upgrade was completed on schedule on Tuesday.


Line marking for basketball, tennis and netball had been added, along with new tennis, basketball and netball nets.



Work to upgrade Pioneer Park started on Monday this week and line markings for tennis, pickleball and hockey are coming.

The $180,000 work in Alexandra should take three weeks to complete, and the courts are closed while work is going on.
