The 65th Contact Alexandra Blossom Festival is set to return this Spring after organisers were forced to cancel due to Covid-19.
The Alexandra Blossom Festival committee are excited to be bringing back the iconic festival and are planning to celebrate all the milestones that were missed last year - the 65th celebrations, Grand Parade, Party in Pioneer Park and more!
Iconic Kiwi bands The Jordan Luck Band and Lady Killers are returning as our headliners and they are ready to put on a show for Alexandra.
The Jordan Luck Band will be rocking the Blossom Festival with the best of all those Exponents tracks we know and love as well as a collection of the bands favourite Kiwi classics.
Jordan said the band was "exceedingly excited" about performing at this year’s festival.
"A fiery furnace of musical performance is guaranteed," he said.
Event manager Martin McPherson excited again after Covid-19 stopped events from running
Lady Killers front woman Jackie Clarke said the group were absolutely “thrilled” to attend the festival this year.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be invited back to the Blossom Festival after the disappointment of Omicron interrupting our plans last year. It's such an iconic event, we’re going to craft a concert of songs that truly celebrates its longevity, by giving a tip of the hat to lots of hits from throughout the decades as well as a few bangers from today. We can't wait!’
Alexandra Blossom Festival committee chairperson Sharleen Stirling-Lindsay said the committee were excited to be looking towards this year's festival.
“After the disappointment of cancelling last year's festival to Covid-19 we can’t wait to be celebrating Spring in Alexandra and all the festival has to offer,’’ she said.
“The Alexandra Blossom Festival is all about our community - the people, the area - we want to be giving our community something to get excited about and look forward to.’’
The Alexandra Blossom Festival is on 23 - 25 September with the Grand Parade and Party in the Park on Saturday 24 September.
