Your weekend is a superheroSave your week, and take the time to do things that make you smile this weekend.

Take the time to do something you’d really love to do this weekend – we have a few suggestions for you.

Make this weekend your superhero. Saturday and Sunday are the days that can swoop in and save the rest of your week.

We’re still in Alert level 2, and there’s lots to do! Just remember to take your mask.

Get some fresh air. As always, there’s always plenty of options for outside fun this weekend.

Get out on the Lake Dunstan Trail, walk up a hill and enjoy the view, go somewhere different this weekend. After you’ve exercised and breathed some of that wonderful Central Otago fresh air, why not stop at a local cafe for lunch or a coffee, and show them some local love.

Remember to scan as you go in.

Eat.Taste.Central is in full swing. Have you tasted, enjoyed and voted for your favourite yet? Eat.Taste.Central is Central Otago’s annual celebration of our amazing food, wine and beverages. Taste, experience, get out and have fun enjoying some of Central Otago’s best food and wine - then vote for your favourite dishes. There’s a Peoples’ Choice Award.

If you’re looking for some ideas on which of all the wonderful entries you should taste, check out our regular Behind the Dish series each Wednesday during Eat.Taste.Central, where we interview the chefs who created the dishes, discover their inspiration, what makes it local and why we should taste it.

Can’t decide? They all sound amazing? Don’t worry - there’s time to get through the menu. Eat.Taste.Central runs for a month from September 24 to October 25. Don’t forget to vote!

Indoor curling. Alexandra’s indoor curling rink is staying open for the school holidays. Give them a call and take the family to have fun with the sport of curling.

Do good for our environment. Saturday, October 9th, Haehaeata supporters are going out to the Lower Manorburn Reserve to get native plants in the ground. This is a new project which will give this area some well-deserved love and attention - and they’re looking for helpers to share in the mahi.

Help make the reserve a more accessible and natural environment. To get involved, phone 027 755 4006 or email [email protected]

Have fun this weekend, and stay safe and well.
