Opportunity to get in front of our youthThe first Central Otago Youth Expo in 2019 saw a wide variety of organisations being showcased to our young people.

Alexandra will play host to Central Otago’s second youth expo this August, set to feature education, career, community and sporting information for young people.

The inaugural youth expo was held in 2019, and was so successful it is to be repeated this August.

Puna Rangatahi (Alexandra and Districts Youth Trust) youth coach Deb Drake says the trust is now inviting clubs, groups, service and other organisations to participate in this year’s event.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your service or group for the young people of Central Otago to experience what you have to offer.

“It’s important for young people to have a look and see if there is something interesting for them. “They can take information away, and find out what they want to be involved in,” Deb said.

“It’s an opportunity for clubs to maybe get new people involved who never would have before,” she said.

“We are giving you 4 months’ notice to get the creative juices flowing on how to best engage the young people attending.”

Deb Drake and Sharleen Stirling-Lindsay from Puna Rangatahi are organising Central Otago’s second Youth Expo.

Deb says the expo is set to be held every two years for young people in the Central Otago region. Schools throughout the region are already booked to attend this year’s event.

The expo will run from 9.30am - 3.30pm for school then 3.30pm - 5.30pm for the Community.

Stalls will be free of charge, there will be the option to have a manned or unmanned stall, and each stall will be approximately the size of a trestle table.
