CODC/Fulton Hogan daily update:

Morning,

Snow has been falling again overnight around the Maniototo with reports of approx. 2 inches in St Bathans, Naseby and the Ida Valley.

Combination of wet and dry roads with temperatures ranging from -1°C to 2°C.

High chance of freezing conditions around day break, crews are out snow clearing and gritting where needed.

Caution required in shaded areas and around bridge decks. Slow down and drive to the conditions.

TAKE CARE around swollen rivers and water ways throughout the district - Due to the recent rain and contributing snow melt, crews are monitoring the changing conditions closely and installing flood signage as needed. 

 Road Closures:

Danseys Pass Road - CLOSED, due to snow.

• Cromwell

Road Work: SH 6 Mount Pisa to Queensberry

Due to rehabilitation works, there will be a Stop/Go with a 30km/h temporary speed restrictions in place from Monday 2nd September to Friday 20th September between 8am and 5pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 5 minute delays travelling through this area during this time.

Scheduled Road Work: SH 6 Queensberry, near Gladsmuir Road

Due to road reconstruction works, there will be Stop/Go traffic management with a 30km/h speed restriction in place on weekdays only from Monday 16th September to Wednesday 16th October between 8am and 6pm. Plan your journey accordingly allowing extra time for your travel. Please note these works are weather dependent and may be postponed at short notice.

• Tarras

Scheduled Road Work: SH 8 Tarras to Lindis Crossing

Due to entranceway construction works, there will be a Stop/Go with a 30km/h temporary speed restriction in place from Monday 16th September to Friday 27th September between 7am and 6pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 5 minute delays.

Scheduled Road Work: SH 8 Lindis Pass to Cromwell

Due to vegetation control works, there will be a Stop/Go with a 30km/h temporary speed restriction in place in various locations through this area from Monday 16th September to Friday 20th September between 8am and 5pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 5 minute delays.

• Clyde

Scheduled Road Work: SH 8 10km south of Cromwell

Due tosela repair works, there will be a Stop/Go with a 30km/h temporary speed restriction in place from Wednesday 18th September to Friday 20th September between 8am and 5pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 5 minute delays.

• Gibbston Valley

Scheduled Road Work: SH 6 Cromwell to Gibbston (Nevis Bluff)

Due to helicopter inspections, there will be intermittent holdings of traffic in both directions for up to 10 minutes at a time on Tuesday 17th September between 12pm and 2pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 10 minute delays travelling through this area during this time. Please note these works are weather dependent and may be postponed at short notice.

Road Work: SH 6 Gibbston

Due to seal widening works, there will be a Stop/Go with a 30km/h temporary speed restriction in place from Monday 9th September to Sunday 22nd September between 8am and 5pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 5 minute delays.

• Teviot Valley

Scheduled Road Work: SH 8 Shingle Creek to Lake Roxburgh

Due to pole maintenance works, there will be a Stop/Go with a 30km/h temporary speed restriction in place on Tuesday 17th September between 9am and 4pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 5 minute delays.

Scheduled Road Work: SH 8 Lake Roxburgh

Due to pole replacement works, there will be a Stop/Go with a 30km/h temporary speed restriction in place on Wednesday 18th September between 9am and 4pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 5 minute delays.

Scheduled Road Work: SH 8 Roxburgh, near the intersection with Smith Street

Due to pole replacement works, there will be a Stop/Go with a 30km/h temporary speed restriction in place on Tuesday 17th September between 7:30am and 6pm. Plan your journey accordingly and expect up to 5 minute delays.

• Maniototo

Road Work: SH 85 Green Valley to Morrisons

Due to road rehabilitation works, there will be temporary traffic signals and speed restrictions in place from Monday 16th Oct to Friday 22nd November between 6am and 6pm. Plan your journey accordingly allowing extra time for travel.
