Ongoing:

Temporary Road Closure – Little Valley Road, Alexandra

Little Valley Road (between Tarbert St and Graveyard Gully Rd) will be closed to motor vehicles from Thursday, 19 February 2026 for bridge repairs. This is a long-term closure.

Motor vehicles:

Detour via: Tarbert St (SH85) > Walton St / Rivers St > Graveyard Gully Rd.

This route is suitable for Class 1 heavy vehicles.

Resident access will be maintained for all affected properties.

Pedestrians and cyclists:

Pedestrian and cycle access will be maintained.

This includes the Otago Central Rail Trail, and access under the bridge via the river path.

Please note: Potential delays on Friday, 20 February 2026:

Cyclists and pedestrians should expect delays of up to 10 minutes due to tree felling.

Please follow all instructions from the site marshals for your safety.

Road Closure and General Traffic Advisory – Bridge 152, Paerau Road

16 February 2026 (Monday): The bridge will be closed from 9am to 3pm. It will open on the hour, every hour to allow traffic to pass.

An alternative route is available for light vehicles only via Linnburn Runs Road > Puketoi Runs Road > Puketoi Road.

There is no detour for heavy vehicles, please allow extra travel time.

From 17 February 2026 (Tuesday): Stop/Go traffic management will be in place at the bridge.

Motorists should anticipate delays of at least 15 minutes.

This is scheduled for approximately 3 weeks.

Temporary Road Closure – Matilda Rise, Tarras

(Pursuant to the Transport Vehicular Traffic Road Closure Regulations 1965)

Matilda Rise in Tarras will be closed between Bendigo Loop Road and Thomson Gorge Road, from Monday 9 February to Friday 13 February 2026.

The closure hours are 24/7, and the road will be closed to all traffic.

The closure is required to install water services.

 Traffic Advisory – Bridge 152, Paerau Road

 Stop/Go traffic management will be in place on Bridge 152, Paerau Road, starting 9 February 2026. These works are required for bridge deck repairs and are expected to take up to three weeks.

Motorists should anticipate delays of at least 15 minutes. Road closures of up to one hour may be required; however, advance notice will be provided in this event.

Temporary Road Closure – Wooing Tree Subdivision, Cromwell

Notice is given that sections of Wooing Tree Ave, Blondie Dr, Pouakai Dr & Vintage St in Cromwell will be closed from Thursday 12 February to Wednesday 18 February 2026.

The closure hours will be from 7.30am to 5.30pm.

No works will occur on weekends or Mondays. Kerbside collection will not be affected. Resident access will always be available, and the detours will be signposted. 

The closures are required for pavement repairs.

Upcoming:

Temporary Road Closure – Holloway Street, Clyde

Holloway Street in Clyde will be closed between Lodge Lane and Naylor Street on the following days:

Monday, 23 February 2026 from 8am (approx. 3 hours)

Sunday, 1 March 2026 from 7pm (approx. 4 hours)

The closures are required for resurfacing.

General Traffic Advisory & Lane Closures – Horace Street, Cromwell

Traffic management will be in place on Horace Street (between Achil Street and Erris Street) in Cromwell from Monday, 23 February 2026. The works are anticipated to take 10 days.

First 3 Days: One-way traffic only. Affected vehicles detour Achil St > Ortive Street or Ray Street > Erris St.

Afterwards: Two-way traffic resumes, but traffic management will remain in place until works are complete.

The traffic management is required for service upgrades.

Temporary Road Closure – Wolter Crescent, Cromwell

 Wolter Crescent in Cromwell will be closed overnight from 7pm to 7am on:

Monday, 23 February 2026 (reopening Tues morning)

Tuesday 24 February 2026 (reopening Wed morning)

Daytime (7am – 7pm): The road will remain open during the day, but traffic management will be in place starting Monday, 23 February. Please expect minor delays.

The closure is required for resurfacing.

Temporary Road Closure – Three Brothers Road, Teviot

(Pursuant to the Transport Vehicular Traffic Road Closure Regulations 1965)

Notice is given that Three Brothers Road in Teviot will be closed from 8am to 5pm on Friday, 20 March 2026.

Residents will have access to their properties with the assistance of traffic marshals.
