Butchers Point Track Mountain biking and Walking

The trail takes you through a steep rocky gorge alongside the Clutha River, with no other access than the old bridle path, winds down beside what are now the upper reaches of Lake Roxburgh. Reminders of Central Otago’s rich gold mining past form part of the landscape otherwise you are on your own!

Start at Graveyard Gully, below the Clock on the Hill. The trail is mostly in the Lake Roxburgh Gorge.
