Your weekend is a superhero: Will we get to Alert Level 1?Save your week, and take the time to do things that make you smile this weekend.

Take the time to do something you’d really love to do this weekend – we have a few suggestions for you.

Make this weekend your superhero. Saturday and Sunday are the days that can swoop in and save the rest of your week.

We’re still in Alert level 2. Sadly, we’ve seen a number of our exciting local events cancelled in the last week. Fingers crossed for a return to Alert level 1.

In the meantime, Alert level 2 gives us a lot more freedom than those in Auckland have - so let’s be grateful.

There’s a few new rules, but there’s a lot we can still do this weekend - just remember to take your mask!

Get some fresh air. We can travel outside of our neighbourhood, so there’s plenty of options for outside fun this weekend.

Get out on the Lake Dunstan Trail, walk up a hill and enjoy the view, go somewhere different this weekend. After you’ve exercised and breathed some of that wonderful Central Otago fresh air, why not stop at a local cafe for lunch or a coffee, and show them some local love.

Remember to scan as you go in.

11th Annual lake Dunstan clean-up. Bring the whole family along and spend Saturday morning improving the shores of Lake Dunstan in Cromwell.

It’s the 11th annual lake clean-up, led by locals who are committed to keeping Lake Dunstan’s shoreline clean and beautiful.

Register at Butchers Drive from 9.00am. Bring gloves, tongs/litter pickers, buckets/tubs/reusable bags for green waste, water to drink and some snacks. Masks are advised but not compulsory.

Plan your Eat.Taste.Central experience. Eat.Taste.Central is Central Otago’s annual celebration of our amazing food, wine and beverages. It doesn’t start until next weekend, but you can go online to check out what will be on offer, and book early into your favourite eateries.

Eat.Taste.Central runs for a month from September 24 to October 25; a great chance for us all to taste, see and learn the stories of our region’s food, wine and beverage pioneers, both past and present.

Have fun this weekend, and stay safe and well.
