Local sports clubs and sportspeople are invited to a workshop about all things sports and recreation, hosted by Sport Central at the Central Otago Netball Centre tonight (Wednesday September 6).

Sport Central sport and active recreation adviser Jo Knight said they would love to have school sport staff attend. 

“[We are] aiming to increase support for clubs, educate, figure out where the gaps are in sport in Alexandra.

“I will be doing a quick run through of the update of the Incorporated Societies Act.

“Also figuring out who needs support in health and safety, first aid courses, and if there is any interest in setting up disc golf in Alexandra as we keep hearing there is.”

The workshop runs from 6.30 - 8.00pm and will include discussion about setting up an Alexandra sports calendar. 

It’s free to attend and everyone is welcome whether you represent a structured club or a more informal recreational group. A cup of tea and nibbles will be provided.
