Renowned speaker and mental health advocate John Kirwan is coming to Alexandra this week courtesy of the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) and New Zealand Apples and Pears Inc (NZAPI).

John will share his experience and story of success in top level sport along with his mental health journey.

The focus will be on how you can prioritise your wellbeing and help yourself and those around you.

There are many reasons why life can be challenging at times and seeking support or advice around looking after your mental health is a great idea – especially when it is free and is a chance to make new community connections and hear from an inspirational speaker.

The Wellbeing workshop is supported by MPI, and on Thursday June 9 at 5 -7pm at The Packing Shed Café, 68 Bolton Road.

NZAPI manager labour and capability Erin Simpson said that the event is open to everyone in the community.

If you would like to attend, you need to register online prior.

The workshop is also being held for orchardists and whānau in Nelson, the day prior to coming to Central.

The Central App will attend and will bring you news, tips and reflections from the event later this week.
