Central residents will enjoy a bluebird weekend as the weather today (Friday August 12) looks to be repeated on both Saturday and Sunday.

Communications meteorologist Lewis Ferris said the coming weekend was looking fine and frosty with light winds and plenty of sunshine.

“We're forecasting a high of 10°C for Alexandra this weekend, the first time that station has reached double digits since last Saturday.”

The same weather continues into the start of next week but as the temperature rises towards midweek, thanks to some northerly winds, they also bring the risk of rain.
