Central Cinema is turning back the clock for Valentine’s Day this Tuesday evening with a screening of The Philadelphia Story.

Starring Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant, James Stewart and John Howard the classic romantic comedy was first screened in 1940.

It’s the story of a divorced socialite about to remarry who finds herself torn between three men and learns a lot about herself in the process of figuring out who she truly loves.

“It’s fun to do something different for Valentine’s Day,” says Tracy Blackwell, a marketing team volunteer for the cinema. “We’ll be giving away some goodies at the door and hope we get a few people supporting our vintage movie night.”

Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm screening, giving patrons the opportunity to purchase non-alcoholic drinks and snacks, and mingle with other moviegoers in the comfortable foyer.

“If this movie is well supported,” says Tracy, “we’ll know we have a market for vintage shows and can offer more in the future.

So, if you like classic movies and need an outing for Valentine's Day, Central Cinema is the place to be.
