An accident reported earlier this morning will not affect motorists in the Kawarau Gorge.

The accident on the Crown Range road was reported by police this morning (Wednesday April 12) as having taken place at Roaring Meg.

However, the accident was approximately 10km from Arrow Junction on the Crown Range.

It involved two vehicles and was reported about 8:25am.

Police said indications suggest two people are injured – one moderately, one seriously.

Police told the Central App the police system suggested 'Roaring Meg' "as the more general area or location of the crash", and acknowledged that was "ambiguous".
