Crowds gathered at the Omakau Racecourse to make the most of one of Central Otago's ‘cooler’ summer days.
Families, campers, picnickers and holidaymakers turned up to support Omakau's annual trotting meet when the event returned to the area yesterday.
Families brought picnics and elaborate set-ups to the races.
Punters were kept busy with 11 races happening across the day, including the big race - race 9 with a prize pool totalling $40,000.
Winner of Race 9 is Franco Indie driven by Blair Orange.
Children were kept entertained with many free activities, including the bouncy castle.
