Central Otago will be experiencing a number of fronts pass over the region to start the week.
There will be some rain around the region but only small accumulations.
According to the MetService forecast, Northwesterly winds are going to be gusty Monday and Tuesday – especially around the ranges.
Cromwell-raised MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says, "Wednesday sees a southwest change push through the region, this will bring some slightly cooler air and a few spotty showers.
“Thursday and Friday are looking good with fine light winds with the weekend becoming partly cloudy and experiencing light rain and wind with Northwesterlies developing."
Maximum temps are expected to hang around the 20°C mark, but those early morning starts could be a bit cool, ~5°C.
Getting out in your garden this week?
You could plant your favourite vegetables this month – best suited this time of the year include beans, potatoes, eggplant, sweet corn, capsicum, salad greens, and herbs.
Our gardening tip:
Keep all your vegetable plants healthy with fertiliser and regular watering around the root zone in the cooler parts of the day. During this time of the year in Central we'd recommend 5am and 9pm.
