This week’s forecast: Breezy northwesterly winds and bits of rain. This week's forecast looks to be a blustery and warm week, according to MetService.

Central Otago’s weekly forecast looks to be a blustery and warm week of weather leading up to Christmas Day but the big day is looking settled!

"Orange warnings for strong winds are in force around Central Otago to start the week" says MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says

"Gusts of 120kmph are possible for especially windy places, ridgetops etc.

The winds generally ease as the week wears on, light winds are forecast for Thursday.”

Lewis says, “A period of rain is likely around the region Monday afternoon, possibly a few showers on Wednesday afternoon.”

“Southerly winds push through the region on Friday and some showers are likely but this clears up nicely for Christmas Day.”

Temperatures sit around the mid 20s all week except Friday when it’ll be closer to 20C.

Expect the 25th to be warm with northerly breezes, maybe a bit more cloud toward the end of the day.

May you all celebrate a wonderful Christmas season, regardless of the weather.
