Central Otago will experience yet another low pressure system which is approaching from the north bringing plenty of moisture with it, according to Metservice.

Cromwell-raised MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris said this system is likely to bring rain to the region on Tuesday (July 12), which could fall as snow to around 500m.

A heavy snow watch is in force along with road snowfall warnings for Lindis Pass and the Crown Range.

according to Metservice.

“A few showers linger around the region on Wednesday, this risk drops back on Thursday but returns on Friday,” Lewis said.

“Southerly wind flow keeps the temperature around six or seven degrees through the week.”

Plenty of inside activities will be required this week for the kids on break but there looks to be a chance of settled weather this weekend.
