Central Otago weather this week looks 'blip' but the long weekend looks promising, according to MetService.
Cromwell-raised MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says Tuesday and Wednesday look settled with high temperatures in the low 20s.
“The overnight temperature jumps up to 11°C Wednesday into Thursday. This is a sign of something to come,” Lewis says.
“Strong northerly winds are pulling down some warm air from the north which brings the potential for rain on Thursday.”
Central Otago weather this week looks blip but the long weekend looks promising.
Lewis says, on Friday the southwesterly winds push through the region bringing a noticeable drop in temperature and further wet weather.
“The region dries out in the second half of the day.” he explains.
“At this point models are hinting at pretty settled weather for the long weekend.”
