Central Otago will experience cool mornings and some cloud this week as a change passes through the region, bringing with it the possibility of frost.

According to MetService, Monday kicks off the week nicely but a southerly change passes through the region overnight.

Some cooler air is to be expected and showers will pop up around the region throughout the day.

Cromwell-raised, MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says “expect a cool start on Wednesday, maybe even a light frost if your location is prone!”

According to Lewis, Thursday will look much the same but with more sunshine and an afternoon high of 23°C.

“Friday remains settled with the weekend starting off nice, thanks to the persistent area of high pressure across the South Island, he says.”

Looking ahead, Saturday looks fine with light winds at this stage, while Sunday looks partly cloudy.
