This week’s forecast looks eerily similar to the last few, with clouds and rain looming across the board for Central Otago, with little sunshine on the cards.
Cromwell-raised MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says to expect another week of limited sunshine.

“Cloud is the main player this week,” he says. “Winds remain light and we’re expecting the wet weather to come and go.
“Overnight temperatures are forecast to remain above average through the majority of the working week. But frosts could be back on the cards come Friday morning.”
Lewis says a loitering weather pattern is holding about the South Island.
“A quite warm ‘airmass’ has been lingering over the region but this is due to be replaced by a cooler one come Thursday,” Lewis says.
“While we expect a slight cooling we’re not seeing any signs of a strong wintry outbreak this week.
“At this point settled conditions are expected over the weekend.”
Temperatures are expected to be close to freezing across Central Otago on the weekend, with daytime temperatures unlikely to rise into the double digits.
