Central Otago will continue to experience morning frosts this week before a complex weather system brings wet weather on the weekend.
Cromwell-raised MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says it is frosty and calm for now but a complex weather system will eventually arrive.
“High pressure holds dominant over Central Otago until late on Thursday so expect frosty mornings with possible fog until late in the week,” he says.
Thursday is forecasted to be fine, with some high cloud later in the day along with morning frosts and light winds.

On Friday, things become more turbulent, becoming cloudy with rain developing later in the morning, followed by showers in the afternoon with a southwest change.
“On Friday the high pressure starts to break down and a band of rain passes over the region,” Lewis says.
“The weather system affecting us becomes very complex at this point so it is worth keeping up with the latest forecasts for the weekend if you are making plans.”
At this point Saturday and Sunday is forecasted to include rain and light winds.
