Autumn has arrived with temperatures dropping and cool southerly breezes arriving this week.
According to MetService Meteorologist Thapi Makgabutlane Central Otago will experience a settled week in weather, but will see a a brief mid-week change as a cool southwesterly blows through.
“It’s a settled start to the week in Central Otago, with fine days and mild temperatures,” Thapi says.

Monday and Tuesday will feature cloudy skies and relatively low night temperatures down into single digits.
“Wednesday sees things pivot, as a cool southwesterly change makes its way across,” Thapi says.
“Scattered rain is also on the cards, especially for the southern parts.”
Wednesday will feature a high in the mid-teens, while the low will drop down into the low single digits.
Temperatures will pick up towards the weekend with Saturday and Sunday touted to reach highs in the mid-20s in some places.
“Although the rain clears away by the latter parts of the week, temperatures take a tad longer to recover,” Thapi says.
“Overall, a settled and mild end to the week can be expected.”
