Central Otago will experience sunshine but wet weather will soon be intruding, according to MetService.
Cromwell-raised MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says a fine and warm start to the week but a band of rain passes over on Tuesday with a cool southwest wind.
“It’s not a large amount of rain by any means but the risk of precipitation stretches in Wednesday,” Lewis says.
CAPTION: Central Otago looks set to experience a settled week in weather.
Lewis says Thursday and Friday are back to fine and warm with light winds.
“Another feeble band of rain is forecast to pass over at some point in the weekend.”
Gardening Guide
Because it's generally the hottest time of the year, keep soil moist to help prevent wilting of plants; a healthy plant is much less likely to be susceptible to diseases.
While the garden is a bit emptier, it's a fantastic opportunity to add a layer of mulch or compost to soil and add valuable nutrients back into the soil and as the month progresses, plan what you want to grow this winter and start sowing your winter veggies.
