Central Otago looks set to experience high temperatures but then wet and cool pass by before the heat returns, according to MetService.
Cromwell-raised MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says both Monday and Tuesday look to be hot days with temperatures exceeding 30°C but they run the risk of an afternoon/evening shower turning up at your place.
“The biggest chance for widespread rain looks to be on Wednesday as a cold front pushes over the region,” Lewis says.
The wet weather looks to linger into Thursday morning but dry weather prevails from Friday.
CAPTION: Central Otago looks set to be hot, then briefly wet and cool.
Lewis says, The southerly change associated with the rain on Wednesday does bring about a significant drop in temperatures and the region may struggle to make high teens on Thursday.
“The warmer weather will be back into the twenties by Friday though.”
Gardening Guide:
Be vigilant and spray with an insect control agent if there are signs of aphids, slugs, snails or white butterflies.
Squash small infestations with your finger or blast off with a hose. Lay slug or snail bait down every few weeks to keep them at bay.
