It’s worth having a wet weather Christmas plan this week, as wet weather looks to settle in for the next seven days, according to MetService.
Cromwell-raised MetService Meteorologist Lewis Ferris says, sadly, it’s not likely to be a perfect summer’s week.
“A low pressure system rolls across the South Island today (Monday) bringing rain to Central Otago into Tuesday morning,” Lewis says.
“Some showers are forecast to linger around the region into the evening.”
As midweek arrives another system will move through the region, he explains.
Central Otago will be in for a cloudy and wet Christmas week, according to MetService.
“Wednesday looks to start off nice but another low pressure system rolls across bringing rain for the second half of the day.
“The region is likely to see wet weather through Thursday too.”
Now for Friday, the big day. It’s not looking sunny, Lewis says.
“At this point there is reason to have a wet weather plan as showers are possible through the day and there could be a few isolated heavy showers in the second half of the day.
“Light winds are likely around the region but cooler temperatures around the high teens.”
