Central Otago’s weekend weather looks set to offer some nice days but the slopes will be a bit breezy. 

“Sunny but chilly with a little breeze adequately sums up the weekend,” MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris told the Central App today.

“Alexandra is forecast to make 12 degrees on Sunday though."

“That may not seem like a lot but before yesterday (Thursday June 30) there was a 13 day run of temperatures below 10°C.”

Lewis said those heading up to the snow may be treated with blue skies but westerly winds will hang around that 20-30kmph mark with gusts to around 50kmph possible.

“A weak cold front zips across the region late on Sunday bringing a brief period of rain and a switch to southwest winds.”

Next week starts off well but doesn’t look to last to midweek.
