Central Otago’s weekend looks set to include cloud and some showers, with weather arriving next week.

MetService meteorologist Lewis Ferris says it will be a short settled start to school holidays.

Friday is likely to be largely fine, with possible early morning frosts with northwesterlies.

“Friday looks like a great day in Central and Saturday ain’t so bad either,” Lewis says.

Lewis says locals will expect scattered showers accompanying cloud, with wet weather forecast to arrive next week.

“Expect more cloud on Sunday with some light rain turning up,” he says. “This rain becomes heavier and more persistent on Monday.

“Don’t fret, basically everyone will be getting some rain on Monday as the frontal system passes over.

“Temperatures in the high teens are expected over the weekend with a drop to 14C on Monday.”
